Urban grooves musician Alexio “Goodchild” Gwenzi has roped in Zambian musician DJ Neo in his effort to tap into regional market.  The duo have collaborated on a love song titled “Nakuyewa” which means “I miss you” and the single is set to be released tomorrow.
In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, the “Iwe Fadzai” hitmaker said his desire to go international has led him to expand his music to other countries starting with Southern Africa.

“I ventured into music in 2003 and I strongly believe it’s time to grow and expand my career beyond Zambezi and Limpopo.

“Actually it’s high time for us young Zimbabwean artistes to make an effort to create a second market for our music,” he said.

“As for me I want the people in Mozambique, Angola, Tanzania, South Africa, Swaziland and beyond to know me. I want them to pay and see me perform and at the same time I want to market my country beyond borders as we have potential.”

DJ Neo, a well established Zambian artist who is also a music producer, said he is a versatile artist who is capable to sing any type of music making his collaboration with Goodchild possible.

“I’m into any genre be it reggae, dancehall, hip hop you name it. So people must expect the best from my duet with Goodchild.

“It is a massive collaboration and it’s up to people to judge,” he said.

Goodchild who has collaborated with a number of local urban grooves musicians including Ex Q, Leonard Mapfumo and Trevor Dongo said he is currently working with musicians from Mozambique and Kenya.
