FORMER Triangle United gaffer Gishon Ntini returned to the Lowveld, this time at troubled Chiredzi FC, after agreeing terms with the Premiership club yesterday.
Ntini will take charge of the side, which has struggled in the first half of the season, and replaces Moses Chunga, who was kicked out of the team in controversial circumstances.
Ntini signed a six-month contract, with an option to extend at the end of the season. He will be unveiled as head coach of Chiredzi today at Chiredzi Town House where he will be introduced to the MPs, chiefs, farmers and the team’s corporate partners.

“I have decided to come back to the Lowveld to try my best to save Chiredzi from the drop. It’s not going to be easy because the team right now is like a dead body in a mortuary but showing signs of life. Our main goal is to survive relegation. It’s a difficult thing to do but as a man you have to be brave enough to face all situations. At the moment we are not looking beyond the next five months

“I have been in this situation not long ago when I was at Triangle and I managed to pull through and ended up finishing in the top eight.
“We want to fight for survival. I did it back in 2011 with Shooting Stars and again in Botswana with Satmos,” said the confident Ntini.

Ntini also indicated that he will have to beef up his stocks since a number of players moved from Chiredzi when Chunga was sacked.
Most of the players who were with Ntini at Triangle last season are expected to link up with their former coach.

Goalkeeper Brighton Chipula, who spent the first half of the season at Bantu Rovers, former Shooting Stars and Triangle striker Tawanda Muyendi, former Tripple B leftback Talent Mkondwa and the ZPC Kariba duo of brothers Norman Togara and Pardon Chinungwa have agreed to join Chiredzi.

Ntini also showed interest in all players that were offloaded by neighbours Triangle F.C. “I will definitely take brothers David Sengu and Ronald Maketo, Muchineripi Muneri, Tatenda Kanyemba and Terence Ganyata because I believe in those players and I am optimistic that they will add value to my team.

Chunga yesterday said he would not comment on the latest developments saying the matter was now in the hands of his lawyers. “All I can tell you is that the club has decided to withdraw their case against me and that should tell you something and if you want to know more you need to talk to my lawyers,” said Chunga.
