Happy Africa Day!!! It’s not late though it was celebrated yesterday, we are still in the spirit and besides the month of May is dedicated to that holiday, I may say.

The weekend was long and that means a lot of television viewing was happening.

Did our national television consider that?

Those who have been paying their television licences wanted value for their money.

Again there was an interesting show dubbed “Spiritual Highway” which had an interesting subject about those children who mysteriously disappeared in the mountains with latest reports stating they have been found.

Well, nice show but the time during which it was showed was not conducive considering the schoolchildren on a long weekend break would love something entertaining, be it cartoons or other fun films.

I don’t hate our national broadcaster, but if possible those responsible for programming should check how viewers would want it done.

I am saying this because there is a lot of feedback with people complaining. I am not acting as a guideline to the television show, but they must be guided.

With this in mind I enjoyed the “Sunday Cool” shows which were spiritual and you could tell that is meant for relaxation.

On to DStv, I also took the opportunity to watch the most talked about show, “Empire”.

The new drama series which is aired at FOX channel every Wednesday stars Taraji P Henson and Terrence Howard and created by Lee Daniels, director of The Butler, “Empire” has gripped audiences in America, and was renewed for a second season after just two episodes.

The first season of “Empire” which kicked off with a double bill on Wednesday 4 March at 21:00 on DStv channel 125, was a success and although I missed it FOX the later brought us a first look of what everyone’s been talking about.

From the very first scene — where V Bozeman performs “What Is Love” to the fashion, acting and Cookie’s great one-liners, we are already hooked on “Empire”!

If you missed the premiere, then tune in to FOX on Sunday at 20:15 CAT for “Empire First Look” and at 21:50 CAT to watch the first and second episodes of “Empire”, back-to-back.
