The Charambas gave a sterling perfomance at The Sunday Mail Bridal Gala on Saturday

Pomp funfair characterised this year’s bridal gala that was held at the Harare International Conference Centre on Saturday.

Merrymakers were treated to memorable event as they had a chance to see different companies exhibiting their products.

The expo that took place last Friday exhibited various bridal wares from companies that were part of the event.

Fans braved the wet weather that characterised the better part of the evening to attend the event.

Zimpapers acting chief executive officer Pikirayi Deketeke said the bridal event brought together people of various ages.

He encouraged people to keep on participating in the event that has been growing by each year.

Bride of the year Rudo Madzviti (nee Zenda) walked away with $1 000 cash courtesy of Zimpapers, a second honeymoon to Victoria Falls and one month’s free subscription courtesy of The Sunday Mail, two return tickets to Victoria Falls courtesy of Air Zimbabwe, Personal cake hamper courtesy of Axquisite fragrances, Award courtesy of Glass Creations and a gift from Montclaire Hotel.

Faith Mazorodze (nee Mufumi) who was on second position in the competition won $800 cash, two return ticket to Bulawayo courtesy of Zimpapers, second honeymoon at Bulawayo Rainbow, personal care hamper courtesy of Exquisite Fragrance and one month of The Sunday Mail courtesy of Zimpapers as well as an award from Glass Creations,

Tapiwa Bepe (nee Matyanga) took the third award and walked away with $500 from Zimpapers, second honeymoon at RTG Hotel in Harare, an award courtesy of Glass Creations, personal care hamper courtesy of Exquisite Fragrances and one month subscription of The Sunday Mail.

Winner of cake of the year Lydia Chibaya (nee Mupfawi) went home $600 richer, second honeymoon, two return tickets to Victoria Falls courtesy of Zimpapers, $200 cash courtesy of Gloria Flour, an award courtesy of Glass Creations, one month’s subscription of The Sunday Mail and a personal care hamper courtesy of Exquisite fragrances.

Second winner in the cake category Rudo Mudzviti (nee Zenda) got $500 and second honeymoon courtesy of Zimpapers, $100 cash courtesy of Gloria Flour, an award courtesy of Glass Creation, Personal care hamper courtesy of Exquisite, Flower bouquet and one month subscription of The Sunday Mail.

The third winner was Tafadzwa Sandra Ngaru (nee Rwafa) who went home with $400 courtesy of Gloria Flour, $ 50 cash- National Foods, second Honeymoon-Zimpapers, Personal care hamper-Exquisite fragrances, Award courtesy of Glass Creations, Flower bouquet courtesy and One month subscription all from The Sunday Mail.

Photographers walked away with money and DSTV subscriptions for one months each in courtesy of Zimpapers and The Sunday Mail.

First Winner was Elson Munetsi who got $300, second winner Photo film got $200 and Photofundi photographers got $100. With winners smiling all the way different musicians performed at the event.

A local dance group Flip Floppers sent the crowds into delirium as they imitated different artistes.

They joined forces with other dance groups Fresh Crew and Banyana Bafana.

Alexio Kawara took to the stage and left fans crying out for more leaving the stage for Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana who managed to keep the audience on the dancing floor.

Mudiwa came on stage giving his best.

The musician was forced to jump off the stage joining fans greeting them on song “Taita Mari na Mwari”.

The Charambas introduced themselves with their song “Ndiwe” from their album “WeNazareta”.

Some of the songs they played were “Rute”, “Machira Chete” “Buruka” and “Tauya Kuzomutenda”.

Jah Prayzah also gave his best with his army drilling gestures leaving fans begging for more.

He sampled songs from his forthcoming album “Jerusarema” that will be released on May 22 at the same venue.

Tocky Vibes was the worst performer of the night.

Visibly drunk, the musician’s voice could not be heard.

He tried to sing his hit song “Mhai” but he could not even stand on stage forcing merrymakers to leave the venue as he struggled with his act. If his act is anything to go by, then the musician’s future is doomed.
