Talented Zimdancehall artiste, Macbeth Mbadzo, who is known by the stage name Fireman Chigogodera, is excited with his UK tour for a performance at this year’s edition of the Zimbabwe Cup Clash which was held recently. The Zimbabwe Cup Clash was in its 11th edition and has in the past hosted the likes of Winky D, Killer T, Judgement Yard and DJ Fidel, among others.The Glen View-based chanter was making his maiden performance at the UK event which attracted some of the cream of Zimbabwean talents in the reggae and dancehall music genres.

“It was a thrilling and eye-opening experience for me since it was my first time to perform at such a high-level event.

“The competition was tough and the temperatures on stage were high while the crowd was electric.

“I am happy and all the kudos go to my stable Gully View Records based in Glen View who prepared me well for the occasion.

“I am still on cloud nine over the overwhelming response I got from the crowd and other music producers who have shown interest in working with me,” he said.

His manager, General Oliver said he was happy with how the musician is maturing.

“Chigogodera is a young man full of potential and his performance at the Zim Cup Clash has taken him to a whole new level in his career and King Alfred expressed his interest in working with him in bigger projects,” he said.

Chigogodera was also full of praise for the organisers of the Zim Cup Clash, New Generation Entertainment owned by UK-based popular DJ and music promoter, King Alfred.

“Although he is now based in the UK, King Alfred has never stopped promoting Zimbabwean talent and the Zim Cup Clash has been one good platform which has exposed many Zimbabwean artistes to the world,” he said.

The chanter started his music career in 2006 singing on the streets of Mbizo, Kwekwe, where he was born.

He was inspired by Jamaican artistes such as Vybz Kartel and Busy Signal. Some of his hit singles include “Ndicharamba Ndichirova Ngoma”, “Ndakuda Kufa” and “Mazigo”.
