Saul Mundandi in ZVISHAVANE
FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza says they have already shifted their focus to their bid to try and win the Castle Lager Premiership title. The high-flying Zvishavane side were dumped out of the Chibuku Super Cup by rivals Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium last weekend.

But Mapeza says his men have already changed focus.

“We were focused on both competitions but we have now shifted our attention to the league just like other teams who were eliminated,” said the coach.

“It was unfortunate that we could not progress in the Chibuku tournament. “Our remaining seven games are not easy at all. We have to travel again to Tsholotsho away and we can’t change it. We have to go out there and try and bring a good result.”

Mapeza feels his men are beginning to feel the effects of the long trips they have made in recent weeks.

They will be without their man-of-the-moment, midfielder Gerald Takwara, who is suspended after picking three yellow cards.

“I have enough depth in the squad and his suspension will not change anything,” said Mapeza.

“We just hope that the guy who will fill his place will do well for us.

“It happens in football, players get suspended, they get injured and if we mourn about it we will not be looking ahead.

“We have to do with what we have at our disposal.”

And the club’s fans say they will be supporting Dynamos who meet Chicken Inn in a top-of-the-table clash this weekend.

“For the first time in our history we are going to support Dynamos on Sunday when they play against Chicken Inn,” said Zien Imran.

“We want Dynamos to draw or to beat Chicken Inn and for just 90 minutes our blood is going to turn blue from the usual green.”
