versatile fashion designer, rapper and poet Panashe Madziva popularly known as Arcane has made outstanding strides in the arts industry.

He has a popular fashion label Run 263 that has been locally embraced by local artistes and is being featured on “Zvidhori” remix by MMT, Stunner, Simba Tagz and DJ Smiley and, “Kuchibhorani” by Nashie musical videos.

Arcane recently featured on a new single “Hiwe” which was released last week by Teysean and Wishez at the recent Changamire festival held at the Book Cafe.

“Hiwe” is a hip-hop banger that has taken the hip-hop sector by storm.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment Arcane was very elated about “Hiwe” saying it will be a stepping stone to boost his Run 263 brand.

“Teysean is the new face for Run 263 so the track was a pre-introduction. The end goal is a video which will serve as a promotional for Run 263 and the artiste.

“Keep in mind Run 263 is a hip- hop oriented brand so our promotion is hip-hop centred. It’s just us branching out into various elements of the hip-hop culture,” he said.

Arcane said he has a range of locally-produced T-shirts meant to promote oneness among hip-hop artistes.

He believes that his brand is internationally recognised by Zimbabwean hippies in the diaspora.

“As a hip-hop artiste, I really wanted to create something that’s internationally recognised, but locally appreciated and has something to do with hip-hop.

“Having seen how the iconic RUN DMC artwork had been redone by so many different designers around the world, I decided to make a localised version of it and put a uniquely Zimbabwean spin to it. It has since been well received.

“I want to give Zimbabweans a somewhat local swagger they can take to the world, give them a very distinguished sense of belonging and something they can call their own.

“I plan on establishing Run 263 as the brand that truly represents the urban, ambitious and progressive demographic of Zimbabwe,” he said.

The poet has also made headlines as one of the finalists at the Mashoko Festival last year with his poems “Child Soldier” and “Kunta Kinte”.
