Fashion designer-cum-musician Privilant Sithole, affectionately known as Privy, launched her debut gospel album on Saturday at Kingston’s House, Harare.

The launch, which was graced by Pastor Charles Charamba and Amai Charamba, who were guests of honour at the glittering show.

Titled “Ndibvumbamire Changamire”, the album has seven tracks one of which features well-known gospel artiste Flame B.

The launch was a breakthrough for the singer as she managed to showcase both her talents as a musician and fashion designer.

As a Christian she finds her inspiration from her background, thus preaching the word of God through music comes naturally to her.

At the launch she rocked the stage in a vegetable and newspaper outfit. Juggling of careers is unlikely to affect Privy as she says she knows exactly what she wants.

“My first priority is fashion designing before music, in fact I use music as a way of advertising my fashion designing skills,” said Privy.

Also present at the launch were musicians Willis Wataffi, Hick Gwarimbo, Jennifer Maneni, David Mabvuramiti, Flame B, Evelyn Maga and Lengthens Musoni. Privy holds a diploma in fashion designing from Bulawayo Polytechnic.

She performed three songs at the launch, namely “Pamberi Apo”, “Ndibvumbamireyi” and “Jesu Wakanaka”, which seemed to resonate with the audience.

She hopes to continue doing what she is good at, that is designing unique and beautiful garments and spreading the word of God not only locally platform but globally as well.
