THE Warriors’ supporters have thrown their weight behind the senior national team and are backing them to win against Guinea in a 2017 Nations Cup showdown at Rufaro tomorrow.

For once the supporters will come together to rally behind one team as we seek to book a ticket to the biggest football showcase on the continent which will be held in Gabon.

In a survey around the streets of Harare yesterday, The Herald met several supporters who were backing the national football team.

Portia Nyamweda of Norton believes the Warriors will win 2-0 with Knowledge Musona scoring a brace.

“I think we have a good side and we are going to win and this will make the country happy. I am behind the boys and they have a good side which can win. It will be exciting to see our side win,” said Nyamweda.

Edwin Gumindoga of Hatfield believes the team will win 3-2, with Cuthbert Malajila and Khama Billiat scoring.

“I think we will have a problem in the midfield as the coach is spoilt of choice but given the opportunity Malajila and Billiat will score goals.

“I will be there rallying behind the national team and I look forward to be a happy man after the 90 minutes.

“The team is good and the players are experienced we will win,” said the Dynamos supporter.

Lincoln Mahonde of Rafingora said he will travel all the way to Harare to support the Warriors and is optimistic they will come out with a good result.

“I am coming to Rufaro to support the national team, I foresee a win, we have experienced players who have played at big stages who can manage a result. We are going to win 2-1 and Billiat will be on target. We are behind the boys and they must do us proud,” said Mahonde.

Mathias Kufandirimbwa, who was tasked by ZIFA to co-ordinate the supporters, said they have reached an agreement with the police that commuter omnibuses will ferry supporters direct to the stadium.

“We urge all the supporters to come in their numbers and support our national team. We are definitely going to win and we have managed to arrange with the police that the supporters can come easily to Rufaro,” said Kufandirimbwa.

Tinei Havadi of Charles Prince Airport believes the team has the capacity to beat Guinea as they have equally good players.

“They have many players who play in Belgium and we also have some who are playing in other European countries so we stand a good chance. The players are capable of doing the job and with Pasuwa we will do it.

“The coach has assembled a good side with experience so we will win 2-1,” said Havadi.
