MZANSI is holding her breath for soapie star Melusi Yeni. The actor, who plays Pat in the SABC2 soapie “Muvhango”, has a dark cloud hanging over him. He has reportedly been in and out of Durban hospitals.

Sources close to the situation said Pat didn’t even get to enjoy the festive season as he was admitted to hospital.

One source told Sunday Sun: “It’s an open secret that Melusi is sick and everyone is holding their breath and praying to God to save him. He was admitted to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital and discharged early this month.

“For now, no one knows what’s causing this horrible sickness.

As we speak, he’s an indoor person at his home in KwaMashu, KwaZulu-Natal.

“His relatives don’t want to talk and people are already wondering why family members fume when you ask about anything related to Melusi.”

Pat is also an ambassador of the annual Ugu Jazz Festival, which takes place in Port Shepstone, south of KwaZulu-Natal.

The organiser of the festival and a close friend of Melusi, Sya Msomi, told the people’s Paper that when he tried to contact Melusi he was unreachable.

“I can’t confirm or deny his sickness because I haven’t had a chat with him but I’m still looking forward to working together with him in the future,” said Sya.

When Sunday Sun approached Melusi’s sister Gugu, she was very aggressive.

She told the SunTeam: “I don’t want to talk to you, just write that down, do you hear me?”

Then she hung up.

Pat was not available for comment at the time of going to print.-Daily Sun.
