Mbonisi Moyo (29) used Morris Tshuma’s birth certificate to acquire a national identity card in Tshuma’s name.Moyo of ZRP Headlands yesterday pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Milton Serima.

He is facing fraud charges. The complainant in the matter is Chief Superintendent Sikhumbuzo Nleya, who is a staff officer with the ZRP.

Prosecutor Mr Sebastian Mutizirwa, told the court that on February 1, 2008 Moyo was recruited into the Zimbabwe National Army with two “O” level passes in Ndebele and Integrated Science.

After undergoing training, Moyo was then posted to the Presidential Guard wing in Harare, but later resigned from the ZNA.

The court heard that on unknown dates Moyo stole Tshuma’s birth certificate and Ordinary level certificates with eight passes.
