Afro-rock group Evicted has joined an array of musicians that are set to perform at Lake July Festival to be held next week at Hunyani Hills.

The group has Derek Bailey, Dominic Benson, Theo Rhode and Justine Soutter. Justine confirmed their participation at the event that is expected to attract thousands of merrymakers.

“We will be taking our music at the event and we promise our fans the best music,” he said. The group has released songs that include “Mental” and “Place Called Home”.

“Our experience has become our best teacher and we are glad to be part of this event,” he said. Their incorporation of different genres on their music is likely to attract people from different ages at the event. Other musicians that are expected to perform at the event are Kinna, Trevor Dongo and several DJs.

Stanford Chibanda who is artiste coordinator for the event said they have tried to come up with a star studied line up. “This is our best and we are waiting for the day,” he said.

Meanwhile a number of shows have been lined up this weekend with several musicians performing in different parts of the country. Tonight Peter Moyo performs at Jazz24/7 in the capital with the musician performing songs from his album “Mopao Mokonzi”.

Alick Macheso makes a date with his fans in Chegutu tonight. Tomorrow, Victoria Falls will be on fire as musicians Stunner and Silent Killer perform at New Victoria Falls Night Club on a gig dubbed “Winter Shutdown”. Organisers of the show Paul Shambare of Express Entertainment said they were not stopping hosting such shows in Victoria Falls.

“Every musician should get his chance to perform here in Victoria Falls. As Express Entertainment we have made it a point to invite all musicians,” he said.
