Dynamos drop points against Eagles
Marere scored a fine volley in the 44th minute after Dynamos had been forced to back pedal for the greater part of the match but Eagles’ turning point was a penalty converted by Ephraim Mwinga in the 69th minute.
Dynamos goalkeeper, Washington Arubi needlessly brought down Tawanda Mareya inside the box and Bulawayo referee Mlindile Ndebele pointed to the spot. Mwinga placed a low shot to his left while Arubi went to his right. But Dynamos faithfuls believed they had wrapped up the three points when Obey Mwerahari handled as he tried to clear a goal-bound shot from Gwekerere in the 75th minute.
Gwekwerere in the heat of the excitement took a shot that Eagles goalkeeper Samuel Mafukidze did well to parry back into play when he dived to his right to thwart the effort. Mlindile, by a stroke of luck to the Eagles players was hit by the rebound and the Dynamos players could not capitalise on the spill by the goalkeeper.
The result left Dynamos still two points shy on leaders Motor Action with just one game in hand over the log leaders. Dynamos will now meet CAPS United in a potentially thrilling encounter at Rufaro on Sunday.
