DSTV Rangers coach Ikabort Masocha says they are not yet safe from relegation and will be out to collect maximum points when they take on Flame Lilly at Lafarge in the World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league this afternoon.
The seasoned campaigners are eighth on the table with 41 points while ZRP Football Club, who are behind them, have 40 points.
DC Academy and Starbill have 39 and 37 points respectively.

“The fact that Flame Lily are on top of the log and we are 20 points behind means when we go into this game we go in as the underdogs. We will try our level best because it’s one of the teams that we compete with in the league.

“It’s going to be a tough match given the fact that they are chasing the title and we are trying to avoid relegation. We can’t lose at the moment because the other teams will catch up with us.

“Usually, it’s very difficult to determine whether you are going to win, you can only talk of winning after the players play according to your plans. But, generally, we have prepared for the game,” said Masocha.

Rangers, whose home ground is Old Hararians, will be using Lafarge as their usual venue will be hosting another event.
And Masocha said the move will not have any impact on their team.

“The league had announced previously that there are no league games so Old Hararians authorities booked the ground for the Bankers tournament.
“And when the league said the games were on, already, there was no chance to reverse the deal to get the ground.

“I understand at first they tried Rufaro but there is Starbill. The other option was Gwanzura but I don’t know what happened and eventually they settled for Lafarge.

“There is nothing we can do but Lafarge is a good pitch, it’s not bad so we just want to play our normal game. There isn’t much difference,” said Masocha.

After dislodging Gunners from the pole position, the prison officers cannot afford to drop points at this stage if they are to make their dream of competing in the Premiership a reality.
