construction on the launch pad, rocket assembly building and launch control center at the Tonghae satellite launching ground, the US-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins University said in a report Tuesday.

The think tank said that construction at the site had gradually slowed and then stopped at the end of last year. A reason for the stoppage remains unclear, the report said.
The new facilities were intended to launch rockets larger than the Unha-3 space launch vehicle that put a DPRK satellite into orbit last December.

However, U.S. State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said she needs to verify if Washington has engaged in an independent evaluation of the analysis.
The United States and other countries believe that the DPRK uses rocket launches as a cover for work on missiles. – Xinhua.
