Rayhaan “DJ RayDizz” Jassat, the winner of the Miller Sound Clash left the country yesterday ahead of his Las Vegas performances that kick off tomorrow night.
The 27-year-old deejay who is travelling with his girlfriend Amy Peters said he was going to use the opportunity to showcase Zimbabwe’s music.“I’m definitely going to be representing Zimbabwe. I will drop international hits but certainly mix them up with the music of Winky D, Simba Tags, Tehn Diamond and Junior Brown,” he said.

The Braeside-based deejay said he was excited about his debut United States trip and thanked the organisers that made it happen. He said such gestures were essential for the growth of the arts sector.

“This is an amazing opportunity. I want to thank Miller for affording it to me. When corporates step in and support us like this, the industry’s growth becomes inevitable,” he said.

DJ Raydizz is an Art and Design graduate from Totton College in the United Kingdom. While his deejaying journey started while at college he took it a gear up upon returning home.

He kicked off with small house parties around Harare before landing gigs in high profile clubs like Mecca and H2O.

The traits that have made him stand out are his creativity and ability to learn from the next person.

“I like being myself and do not follow trends. Everyday I’m learning to see what others are doing,” he said.

Ray Dizz was the first Zimbabwean DJ to play on Big Brother Africa in 2012.

For the next twelve months, he will be the Miller Genuine Draft ambassador.
