LONDON. — Angel di Maria has hit out at Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal’s “philosophy” and claimed he rowed with the Dutchman. The Argentine midfielder, signed for a British record transfer fee of £60million in August 2014, failed to adapt to life at Old Trafford and moved to Paris Saint-Germain earlier last month.

Van Gaal has proven notoriously difficult to get along with and Di Maria confirmed he did not enjoy working with the United boss.

“Van Gaal has his philosophy and one of the things that made me want to leave is that,” he said on ESPN Radio Argentina.

“It is difficult to adapt to Van Gaal. I had a couple of rows with him.”

Di Maria says he was pleased with how life began in Manchester but things changed after his hamstring injury, when Van Gaal started using him in a different position.

“I started well and after that I got injured,” he explained. “Things didn’t go well for me and Van Gaal changed my position.

“I spoke with [Laurent] Blanc and his thinking was that I’d play in a similar position to where I did at Real Madrid.”

Di Maria produced a brilliant assist for Ezequiel Lavezzi just a few minutes into his PSG debut, helping his new side see off Monaco 3-0.

“I didn’t imagine a reception like this,” said Di Maria.

“It was the most beautiful presentation I have ever had. The truth is that I’m happy to come to PSG and to have team-mates like Lavezzi and Pastore.”

Meanwhile, Javier Hernandez has revealed that his desire to play in the German Bundesliga was the main reason why he left Manchester United.

The Mexican striker has completed a transfer to Bayer Leverkusen in a deal believed to be worth £12m.

The 27-year-old, who was wanted by West Ham and Tottenham this summer, has signed a three-year deal with the German giants.. — Mailonline.
