Derby ends in draw

DYNAMOS will look back at three clear missed chances that cost them three points and then the heroic saves from Washington Arubi for the one point gained in the Harare Derby at Rufaro on Sunday.
However, the draw was a fair result in a match that attracted nearly 25 000 people with 18 728 paying their way in.

There was a colourful crowd and the atmosphere was electric at the stadium as the match grossed an estimated US$63 584.
But the draw left a further dent in Dynamos’ title aspirations as leaders Motor Action are now four points clear at the top after they beat Black Mambas 1-0 on Saturday.
Even if Dynamos win their outstanding game against Gunners, they will still not overtake the pacesetters.

The match failed to produce the expected fireworks although some firecrackers were thrown here and there during the match and spiced up the derby.
But the talking points at the end of the match were the misses by Dynamos veteran midfielder Murape Murape in the first half and then efforts from strikers Benjamin Marere and Brighton Tuwaya in the second half.
Arubi was in top form once again as he pulled off a number of fine saves, especially when he dived to thwart a pile-driver from Marvel Sama-neka on the stroke of full-time.-The Herald
