DYNAMOS have maintained they will not stand in the way of players who want to leave during the mid-season transfer period although they are expecting to keep their squad intact at least until the end of the year. The Glamour Boys secretary-general Webster Chikengezha yesterday said they are aware clubs from South Africa could be interested in some of their players as they prepare for the new Absa Premiership season but De- Mbare have not had enquiries.

Chikengezha said DeMbare have no plans, either, to go on the market to beef up their squad for the second half of the season after roping in Congolese midfielder Fabrice Mbimba and Rodreck Mutuma, who arrived late when the initial registration had closed.

Mutuma rejoined the Glamour Boys this year from South Africa following the termination of his contract with Bloemfontein Celtic.
DeMbare have already lost goalkeeper George Chigova to Supersport United and they are currently searching for back-up to Artwell Mukandi.
“We almost have a full squad and we are probably working on replacing George only. He is the only player that we are sure is leaving.

“We had registered 33 players at the beginning of the season and we want to fill the two slots with the registration of Rodreck Mutuma and the Congolese midfielder that we have signed (Fabrice Mbimba).

“But we are still looking to see if there are any other players that will be leaving. The technical team has not notified us of any but in the case that there are vacancies we will promote from our juniors or we look elsewhere in Division One.

“We have many youngsters who are waiting in the wings. We are happy our junior teams are producing good quality players who can walk into the senior team given the opportunity, just like what Blessing Moyo has done.

“That boy is only 19 years old and already he is showing his capabilities. Besides I don’t think we can afford to go on the market to shop around. Most of the players are contracted and to get them from their clubs when contracts are still running will be a tall order. It will be very expensive,” said Chikengezha.

DeMbare, though, should brace for possible movement of players with names such as Partson Jaure, Stephen Alimenda, Augustine Mbara, Ta- fadzwa Rusike, Ronald Chitiyo and Mutuma all having been mentioned as possible targets by the foreign clubs.

There are also players like Milton Makopa, Clive Kawinga and Farai Mupasiri who have not played a big part in the campaign this year due to injuries and Diya said they will not release any of them.

The team’s assistant coach, Tichaona Diya, said they are looking to maintain the same squad in their fight for a fourth straight championship.
“As the technical department we are looking forward to retaining all our players. There are no plans to release anyone but, of course, if someone decides to leave for greener pastures we cannot stand in their way.

“We have spoken about this and we believe we have a strong squad to win the league again this season. Of course, there are players like George, it’s not a secret we need a replacement because we are only left with two goalkeepers. We need two more,” said Diya.

DeMbare are currently third on the log standings after 12 matches. They are tied on 22 points with leaders Hwange and How Mine as they head to their next assignment away to Chicken Inn this Saturday.

CAPS United will be back home at the National Sports Stadium when they host Hwange on Sunday. Makepekepe will be looking to continue with their fine form at home where they have not lost a match this season. The Green Machine are in high spirits after collecting their first set of maximum points on the road with a victory at Chiredzi. Resurgent Harare City have a date against Shabanie Mine at Rufaro on Saturday.
