HARARE giants Dynamos have shut the doors on three Zambian players who trained with the club last week with the hope of impressing new coach Paulo Jorge Silva.

DeMbare, who are searching for prolific forwards to complement their strike-force that includes Rodreck Mutuma, Kelvin Bulaji, Richard Kawondera and Takesure Chinyama, last week hosted Zambian players on trials.

Team manager Richard Chihoro revealed yesterday the Harare giants had decided against signing the players who had included an attacking midfielder and a striker.

“They were here for two days but they have since returned home. The coach has indicated that he wants a top-notch striker and it appears he was not impressed by the players. So we are still searching,” said Chihoro.

The last Zambian players who featured for DeMbare are the ex-Zesco United duo of Derrick Kabwe and Arthur Kaseloki who flopped in their debut season, packed their bags and returned home three years ago.

However, Silva, who has coached in more than seven different countries, has indicated he wants “something different” and will use his contacts to beef up his squad.

Silva is targeting at least two players from abroad and has identified two strikers currently playing in Portugal.

One of the strikers is of Australian origin and the other Brazilian.

Silva said he cannot recommend players of Portuguese origin as he reckoned they were demanding too much money to come to Africa.

Dynamos are currently training with 29 players and they have limited slots remaining since Brett Amidu and Tatenda Mukuruva will be registered as senior player this year.

Silva confirmed his squad is almost complete and currently they have only two juniors Kudzanayi Nyakasaka and Peace Makaha.

“It’s easy we have got to stay with 25 senior players and five juniors. But as a club we are thinking not only of this season but the next and the future of the club. But we have got to get two or three players from outside because we need something different,” said Silva.

Dynamos have so far bolstered other departments by roping in defensive link Dominic Mukandi from bitter rivals CAPS United, former Gunners and Highlanders attacking midfielder Valentine Ndaba and the ex-Triangle duo of holding midfielder Tichaona Chipunza and goalkeeper Ashley Reyners.

The Harare giants are looking to finalise deals with the trio of Archford Gutu, Liberty Chakoroma and Jimmy Dzingai as they intensify their pre-season training this week.

Negotiations with the three players have been training with the team and have been included in the list of 29 players that make up their provisional squad.
