EASTERN Region Division One side Mutoko Traders have moved their pre-season game against Dynamos at Chikondoma tomorrow with a full house expected for the tie.

The match was initially scheduled for tomorrow, but was shifted to Sunday because Dynamos want their fans to throw their weight behind Harare City in their Confederation Cup tie against AS Adema of Madagascar at Rufaro today.

Dynamos’ assistant coach Lloyd Mutasa revealed they will play the match tomorrow. Mutoko Traders are a very popular side in Mutoko and club president, Chido Mudzinganyama, said playing the match tomorrow would have been a counter-attraction to the Harare City game.

“We have decided to postpone our friendly match against Dynamos as there will be an international for Harare City.

“We felt we should give them a chance to get maximum support as they are representing the nation,” said Mudzinganyama.

Mutoko Traders started as a social club but made it into the Eastern Region Division One League and, last year, they played a key role in deciding who qualified for the Premiership.

The Mutoko side held Masvingo United, in the last match of the season, when a victory for Yuna Yuna would have given them the ticket into the top-flight league.

“We are training hard prior to the Dynamos match as we have already played four pre-season friendlies against UZ Division Two side, Shamva United, who gained promotion into the Northern Region Division One league, Black Rhinos and Herentals.

“The game against Dynamos will help us and we will try more combinations as we continue with our preparations. We are now targeting friendlies with bigger sides,” said Mudzinganyama.

Meanwhile, CAPS United will also continue with their pre-season preparations when they take on Premiership newcomers Ngezi Platinum at Gwanzura on Sunday. The match is part of Chipaz Promotions fanfare, which will see several activities like the musicians and journalists clashing in a challenge game.
