The much-awaited Harare Show Cup Clash is slated for August 30 at City Sports Centre. There top dancehall DJs and emcees will go head-to-head for the coveted title, at the annual gig starting at midday and lasting all night which promises nothing short of fireworks. Highlights include music by a stellar line up of performers in the likes of Winky D, Soul Jah Love, Seh Calaz, Shinsoman, Tocky Vibes, Dadza D, Terminator, Jah Child, Ras Pompy, Platinum Prince, Josta Man, Bobo Fire, Spiderman and Maggikal.

The sound clash will see Judgment Yard, Fire Linx, Rude Lion Sound as well as Garry B and Templeman rocking the masses until the late hours of the morning.

Given the magnitude of the Harare Show Cup Clash, obviously there will be several casualties especially when Zim dancehall acts Winky D, Soul Jah Love, Seh Calaz, Tocky vibes and Shinsoman take to the stage.

The Zim dancehall throne is heavily contested especially now that there are many contenders eyeing the title.
Winky D has won the title of King of Zim dancehall and even though he is in a class of his own, that does not mean the other chanters will go down without putting a fight. In fact, those vying for the crown will leave no stone unturned to wow the crowd.

It will be do or die for other performers who also want to showcase themselves. Already, some artistes have composed songs which they will perform on the night while others wait to see the outcome of the show before they release any new songs.

Since its inception, the Harare Show Cup Clash has always been a platform for rivals to settle their scores, not physically but lyrically.
Seh Calaz who is the protagonist of a clique popularly known as “Mabhanditi” has ruffled feathers of many in the genre and is likely to be the target of many chanters Winky D and Soul Jah Love. Unfortunately for him, these are the top rated performers who by far have excelled in the genre not by dissing other artistes but sheer delivery on stage.

Chances are high that a triple threat involving Winky D aka Ninja President, Soul Jah Love of the Conquering Lion and Mabhanditi will take centre stage.

A good number of chanters likeTocky Vibes have also excelled by singing positive messages and he has won the hearts of many.
Tocky vibes laces his vocals on any riddim and still appeals to a wide audience. He is likely to pose a threat to the other rookies.

Dadza D has amazing energy on stage but sadly, he is still one of those underrated acts in Zim dancehall. He has his unique style and is deadly in live performances.

He exudes both cool confidence and stamina as he rocks the microphone to the obvious joy of the youthful crowds who are the main consumers of dancehall music.

Other notable performers include the youngsters Ras Pompy, Terminator and Spiderman who will be spicing up the line-up.
Show promoter Partson Chimbodza of Chipaz Promotions said the gig was aimed at showcasing the best in Zim dancehall.

“There is so much talent out there and this gig is meant to recognise those talents on a much bigger platform for all to see. We are however, not going to tolerate violence among artistes let the music speak for itself,” Chipaz said.
