Private Lounge lead dancer Tiarra Goddess, real name Tiarra Baluti, is hanging up her dancing shoes after landing a role in an upcoming upmarket comedy movie to be released in September.

Titled “The World We Live In”, the movie stars prominent actor Tapiwa Mavindidze, who hogged the limelight when he played the role of VJ in popular soapie “Studio 263”.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, Tiarra – who has also opened a hair and beauty salon in the capital – said she was happy that her talent had opened new avenues for her. “I can say I am multi-talented but dancing has always been my best and I started dancing at a tender age in school.

“When I finished school that is when I went to Private Lounge for dancing auditions and I got a job as a lead dancer and from there I started earning a living through dancing and that is also how I met a lot of people who were willing to help me get to another level in life.

“One of those people is Bless Gatsi of B Identified, the producer of the comedy movie ‘The World We Live In’ who invited me for the movie auditions and I got a role,” she said.

Tiarra also said that she will be releasing an album this month.

“I am also into music and I am into RnB and hip-hop, I am currently in the studio working on my first album ‘Two Sides of a Coin’ and I am almost done.

“The album chronicles my life and the title ‘Two Sides of a Coin’ is about two sides of my character, I have one character as Tiarra, the ordinary, calm and humble me then the other character the goddess and thus the weird one, the Nicki Minaj, Beyonce kind of a character and on this album I will be revealing these two characters,” she said.

She added that the album will be accompanied by a video for the track “Amai” which she has dedicated to her late mother.

Meanwhile, Tiarra says she never thought that at one point she would hang up her dancing shoes since it has been her childhood passion but highlighted that she is happy with where her dancing has taken her.

“I am quitting dancing for the better and I do not have any regrets. I am happy with where it has taken me,” she said.
