Several Mbare chanters unite for Kinna’s birthday celebrations that will be held at Mbare Netball Complex tomorrow. Organisers of the event, Back Yard Entertainment, said they have done their best organising an event that will see the chanter celebrating his 25th birthday in style. Blah Ray who is the coordinator of the event said that was another way of appreciating the musician’s contribution to the growth of dancehall in the country.“We have several musicians in Mbare who have worked very hard in promoting Zimdancehall in the country and Kinna is one of them. By having such events on special days like his birthday we are simply appreciating his contribution to the development of the genre in the country,” he said.

He said different chanters have already confirmed their participation at the show that is likely to bring refreshing moments to dancehall lovers.

Kinna said he was happy that there were people out there who appreciate him as an artiste.

“Every person feels elevated if people gather and celebrate birthday with him. That is the same way I am feeling now and it encourages me as an artist that there people out there who appreciate my works as an artist,” he said.

He also thanked the artistes who agreed to be part of the event saying unity was key to the development of the genre.

Several chanters including Soul Jah Love, Hwindi President, Dhadza D, Lady Squanda, Lady Bee, Bounty Lisa, Ricky Fire, Sniper Storm, Freeman, Ras Caleb and Spiderman among others while on the turn tables will be DJ Templeman and Garry B, DJ Cables, DJ Ashaz, Fyah Lynx and Judgement Yard will join the musician in celebrating his birthday.

Kinna is one of the popular musicians that have emerged from the country’s high density suburbs and has released a number of songs that have charmed dancehall lovers.
