Crowhill Farm saga rages on

Fungai Lupande Court Reporter
Four men allegedly led a group of 120 people to invade Crowhill Cleverhill Farm in violation of an existing court order before stealing a plan booklet from Mount Pleasant legislator Cde Jaison Passade. The quartet, Ardwell Chiminya (57), Leonard Madimitsa (33), Amos Muza (40) and Patrick Jima (50) yesterday appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Vakayi Chikwekwe. They are facing theft, contempt of court, threats of violence and criminal trespass charges.

They were remanded to today for bail hearing. The court heard that the land belongs to Crowhill Cleverhill Estates and the accused were ordered not to interfere with operations at the farm.

The court heard that on June 21 this year, the quartet led a group of 120 people into occupying the farm. They started pegging stands and allocating them to each other in violation of a court order, it is alleged.

On June 25, the group threatened to assault employees carrying out construction work at the farm.

They also stole a plan booklet belonging to MP Passade, which they hid in their cabin. The booklet was later recovered by police.
