ZIMBABWE women’s cricket side are in positive spirits as they step up their preparations for the Women’s Regional World Cup Qualifiers in Uganda in December.
The team has been in camp since Monday. They have been training ahead of the qualifiers where they feel they stand a good chance of doing well.
The qualifiers have been set for December 14 to 16.
Zimbabwe cricket women’s team manager, Caroline Nyamande, said the team was in good shape.

“We have our provisional squad of 20 players in camp. And I must say that the women’s team has been holding these camps on a monthly basis since February to improve their standard of play. We want the players to be fully prepared and fit for the upcoming tournament. We need to win convincingly this time, our side is looking good, no injuries and we want to continue having these camps.

“We are also looking at hosting friendly matches against other sides within the country so that by December we will have one good side,” said Nyamande  Nyamande said the team played well in tournaments in South Africa and Botswana this year.

“The women’s side are doing well and they have really improved their level of understanding and play.
“We must say it is not an easy task but the side is looking good. Earlier this year we toured South Africa and Botswana where we did very well.

“So, we hope we will be able to perform well. It will be good if we win,” said Nyamande.
