Two of the 50 police recruits who escaped death by a whisker after a tent they were using during training at Lowdale Training Centre in Shamva was struck by a bolt of lightning, are still admitted at Morris Depot Camp Clinic. The two were part of the three recruits who sustained minor injuries during the incident last Thursday.  A senior police officer yesterday said that one of the three recruits had since resumed training.

“The three were all admitted at Parirenyatwa Hospital, but were moved to the camp clinic for security reasons over the weekend,” said the official. “One of the three recruits has since been discharged and has resumed training.

“The other two are still admitted.”
On Monday, police said all the affected recruits had since resumed training.
Police sources said the incident involved recruits from Morris Depot and occurred between 6pm and 7pm.
