Police investigating the brutal murder of four people in Binga ten days ago have arrested three suspects and shot dead a fourth.

National police spokesperson senior assistant commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed that Robert Muleya (aged 31) from Kamativi, former Rhodesian police officer Sinola Jameson Dube (aged 57) and Hardlife Dube (20) both from Mabobolo village, are in custody after a series of police raids across Binga.

The fourth suspect, Emmanuel Dube (aged 30) and a son to Sinola Jameson Dube, was shot dead after exchanging gunfire with police detectives at Siansundu business centre.

Police said investigations have so far shown that Sithembinkosi Moyo, Alvin Nyirenda, Nkosana Mdlongwa, and Leo Mthulisi Ndlovu were killed on January 6 in a botched ivory deal.

Three of the murder victims were found in an abandoned Isuzu truck with gunshot wounds to their bodies while Ndlovu’s body was found 1km from the scene with the head decapitated.
