There is nothing new by the way because this is the final term. But that also means that this is the term for serious work as you reap what you sow in the exams. CLS tip for back to school: No matter what your grades, there is still time for you to improve. We all know that you would want to spend time sharing about how you spent your holiday, what new gadget you now own and what aunt from Gland (England) sent you.

That time has passed because its time to get serious. Grade Sevens, make the most of your last days ever in junior school where you are the big guys.

Next year you will be the clueless kids in big school. However, all work and no play is no good for you either.

So let’s talk about a bit of fun.

Last week the town was on fire, full of activities and according to the CLS reviews, not all of them delivered on their promises. We just pray that we don’t have reports of teenagers who misbehaved.

But that is all we will say about that. Why dwell on the Davido, Harare Agricultural Show, Toni Braxton and Waterwhirld events which in my opinion have been over shared?

Moving on to the MTV Video Awards which came and went, we would like to congratulate all the winners. Controversial, singer Miley Cyrus hosted the colourful show but our verdict is that she should stick to singing and her social media Apps. Emceeing is not her strength.

Nicki Minaj’s opening performance started the night off as a conciliatory affair with Taylor Swift on stage too.

The Weekend was impressive live, as were Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

Demi Lovato sank rather than swam on the outdoor stage.

Taylor Swift took away three Moonmen, including best video for “Bad Blood”.

Nicki Minaj called out Miley Cyrus for making comments about her in the press.

Oh, yeah and Kanye West said he was going to run for president in 2020, and Miley Cyrus released her new album for free. What a night.

The live performances were mostly spot on with only a couple of slip ups.
