Flashy lights, coloured outfits, fireworks, weird hairdos, bling and grind describe the order of the day today. All fun begins and ends today. Saturday is action-packed from the Davido concert, Harare Agricultural Show which ends with fireworks, Waterwhirld Summerfest, Zim dancehall show to the AFM conference, everyone is catered for.

The bottom line is stay free of drugs because it is on such exciting days when most teens find themselves making that one wrong decision that will affect the rest of their lives negatively. Let us review the action line up starting with the action at agricultural show.

I would give the event three stars this year because nothing new is on offer, it is still the same old drill. The police and army stands remain magnets for most teens for that chance to understand how our everyday heroes operate and of course photoshoots at the exhibition stand.

On shows, I think the Waterwhirld and Zim dancehall will stick to the norm because that is where most teens go and remember these two separate the teenville. We have the swag and dancehall-gangs. But now it is just the same because most swag oans are into dancehall but are affected by the issue of violence.

Our boy, Nigerian star Davido is set to ignite the Belgravia Sports Club as he is expected to put up a sterling show with his hits such as Aye, Skelewu and Dami Duro among others. I am not sure if he is going to do the live band thing as most of the international artistes who visit only use discs when performing.

Maybe they are taking us for granted and we need to step up. With such activities I am not sure where I will be but chances are high on Davido and please do take selfies, pictures and #SaturdayHeraldCLS. The best pic wins a free movie ticket for two courtesy of Ster Kinekor.

The box office this week is interesting with “Mission Impossible 5” competing with “Big Game”. I enjoyed both movies which full of action and life. However, we are now waiting for the new “Transporter Franchise” release – yah it’s a big boys’ game for sure. Girls, relax as we also heard that MockingJay — “The Hunger Games 3” will be released in November, so girls still rule the world.

As per request, with effect from September, Swag Mama will be having free lunch with two lucky teens but the promotion runs only one Saturday a month.

In the Gadgetmania kingdom, Leef iBridge is a clever way to add external storage to your iPhone. One of the things its users have to put up with is the lack of an expansion card slot in their devices. Apple’s done it that way since they started and there’s no reason for them to stop. While iCloud and other cloud services give users an alternative, those who want local storage for the glut of media they intend to carry around should be better served by products like the Leef iBridge.

I recently picked up one of the entry-level 16GB models and, I have to say, was impressed. The iBridge sports a curved J-shaped design, with a lightning connector on the short end and a USB plug on the other. It might be an awkward-looking design at first that surprisingly works well, since it moves what could have been a long, unruly dongle out to the back, where it’s able to sit flush against the back of the phone. As such, you can use the phone or tablet without much adjustment, holding it in whatever way you find most comfortable.

Since the device has a good amount of flexibility along the curve, it can be opened wider to accommodate even thicker cases, so there’s no need to remove them in order to use the additional storage. It comes with a similarly-curved cap that’s designed to cover both plugs, turning the assembly into an oval shape that you could hang on a bag loop or a carabiner to minimise the chances of dropping it when you’re on the move.

Till next week, enjoy this fun day.
