ZIMBABWE Under-19 Rugby captain Connor Pritchard believes they have what it takes it overcome bitter rivals Namibia in the finals of the Africa Cup’s Group 1A Tournament at St George’s College tomorrow. The hosts will face Namibia, who they have not beaten in several years with the national team having gone for seven years and were recently humiliated 80-6 last week.

Pritchard, a Falcon College student, said they have a competitive side that is capable of making it through in the competition. “I think we have a good side and everyone is working hard to come out with a result. We will continue from where we left and work hard as a team. “We would like to make the fans and everyone who will be supporting us happy so we will fight hard,” said Pritchard.

Namibia are ranked second on the continent behind South Africa as Zimbabwe comes on third place. The Zimbabwe captain believes their performance against Kenya which saw them book a place in the final is a good motivation to the team. “The win is good as we are now looking forward to the next match which is against Namibia and we have to be prepared as it is going to be a tough game.

“Our team will just need a few touch-ups which need to be worked on before the weekend encounter,” Pritchard added. Kenya, on the other hand, will face Uganda who were defeated by Namibia in the first match of the day.
