Popular ZBC TV show, “Club E” has roped in international correspondents and will now carry a fashion police segment. The changes, which are scheduled to begin later this month, have seen organisers partnering showbiz reporters from the United States and United Kingdom.Linda Rose Madanhi in the US and Janice Simpson in the UK will present reports on what is happening on Hollywood under the E-News segment which will also be broadcast live in their respective host countries.

The two will join the local presenters on Club E Studio via livestreaming.

For the Fashion Police segment the presenter remains unnamed as the organisers are still in talks with the prospective candidate.

“Club E” is hosted by Marc Mandishona, affectionately known as Mandisoul, and Nonhlanhla Tutani (Miss V).

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, show producer and host Mandisoul said this is so far the greatest development in the entertainment and lifestyle industry.

“We still talking with someone, a popular face in the industry to do the Fashion Police. The show will be basically talking current trends, criticising, analysing and giving tips on fashion and style. The police part will come as a style guide on how it is done,” the former ZiFM presenter said.

“Club E” is an entertainment and lifestyle show that focuses on trends, who is doing what and showbiz news. The show is the only production on national television showcasing local and international red carpet events. We found it necessary to include that because this is what the people want and with the era we are in, people are moving with times,” he said.

He said it is all about art.

“Contemporary popular culture is what ‘Club E’ is all about, what’s hot, what’s hip and the show brings to the screen the latest music videos, movie reviews, fashion trends and profiles of top Zimbabweans excelling locally and internationally. We have featured stars like Tinashe, Shingai, Danai Gurira among others,” he said.

He said the reporters will also attend Hollywood shows, parties and report firsthand views to bring the whole thing closer home.

“Instead of only reading about it in the newspaper or magazines that Kim Kardashian has done this, Usher has bought this, we will be bringing the report live to our viewers. Resources and platform permitting we want to meet the international standards so that it matches the showbiz industry in those places,” he said.

Mandisoul said this is not new ground as they have already tested the waters.

“We were privileged to attend the Chris Brown and August Alsina show in South Africa and we covered the event live from the red carpet interviews and also the concert itself which was aired last week on our episode,” he said.

Asked on how the show will balance the local and international content, he said that everything is under control.

“We won’t forget that we are Zimbabweans. We continue to cover our shows, red carpet moments, play local videos. The difference and balance will only come when we seek quality.

There are a lot of music and entertainment shows on ZBC TV, so we will only accommodate what meets our standards,” he said.

Mandisoul is a graduate of the Amsterdam International Film Academy.

The show airs on Sundays at 1930 hours.
