AS the domestic Premiership’s mid-season window opens today, Harare City coach Moses Chunga is keeping his cards close to his chest with the veteran gaffer coy over whether he will bring new players to the Sunshine Boys’ dressing room.

Chunga arrived at Harare City three weeks ago, taking over from Taurai Mangwiro who paid the ultimate price for the Sunshine Boys’ indifferent start to the season.

The former Dynamos coach could neither confirm nor deny whether he was targeting any players to strengthen his team when he addressed the media during his weekly press conference at Town House yesterday.

Instead, Chunga chose to focus on Harare City’s immediate assignment against Border Strikers in Beitbridge on Sunday.

Chunga’s men are still smarting from their 0-2 defeat by Dynamos at Rufaro last Saturday.

It was the first time that Harare City had lost a match since Chunga took over.

The former Zimbabwe captain, however, said they had put behind them the loss to DeMbare and were now looking to pile more misery on struggling Border Strikers.

Harare City will travel to face the basement side Border Strikers at Dulivadzimu on Sunday.

Chunga said he was confident his charges will bounce back against Border Strikers but also warned against complacency.

“We are geared for Border Strikers. We will not underrate them in any way as they are playing in the same league as us. They have a good side and so we will not take anything to chance but play our normal game,” said Chunga.

“We have put behind us the defeat against Dynamos and our focus now is on collecting maximum points in this game.

“They have their problems but we will not look much into that as we seek to bounce back to winning ways’’.

Chunga said Harare City had been hard at work to try and rectify the weaknesses which DeMbare exploited when handing them their defeat.

“The team has been working hard the whole week and everyone is injury free except that we will miss the services of Blessing Moyo who is in South Africa for trials with Maritzburg United.

“I believe he will be away for two weeks but the rest of the team everyone is ready for the match’’.

Border Strikers recently parted ways with their coach Saul Chaminuka.

Despite their poor run Border Strikers appear to have finally found some support from the Beitbridge community who have been rallying behind them. Their first home match attracted a record crowd and the team will be expecting the same again this weekend.
