HARARE CITY coach Moses “Bambo” Chunga has challenged his troops to post results consistently ahead of the Sunshine Boys’ tricky encounter against Ngezi Platinum at Rufaro on Saturday. The Sunshine Boys beat Bulawayo City 2-1 last Friday to throw a faint lifeline to their campaign which has been marred by inconsistent performances which probably emanated from the “now over” in-house controversies which at one time saw some senior players going AWOL.

Harare City are now on seventh place on the log standings with 29 points, 12 behind leaders FC Platinum going into Week 22.

This is despite that the “Sunshine Boys” were one of the pre-season favourites to land the title after they bombarded the transfer market roping in seasoned players like Ronald Chitiyo, Edwin Madhanhanga, Blessing Moyo and Jimmy Tigere.

Chunga has since admitted that the championship is now practically beyond his team’s reach, but has demanded consistency to make sure that the team finishes the season in the top four.

The seasoned coach who won the league title with Gunners in 2009 said the game against Ngezi Platinum is a must win as his team need to finish the season on a high note.

“We need to beat Ngezi Platinum to keep our hopes of finishing the season in the top four alive.

“We beat them in their own background at Baobab in June, but I don’t read much into the past. They are a very strong team with an intelligent coach and fantastic players. Anything can happen in that game, but we are training hard because we need the points to make our top four dream a reality,” said Chunga. Harare City will be without Chitiyo who is set to travel with the Warriors for an African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Guinea in Conakry this weekend.

Chitiyo, who has found some of his best form again was recalled by Warriors coach Callisto Pasuwa as replacement for FC Platinum winger Marshal Mudehwe who was injured in a road traffic accident as he was making his way to the senior team’s camp.

Jimmy Tigere is also suspended for the match against Tonderai Ndiraya’s side.

The premiership newcomers on the other hand are low on confidence after having gone for three consecutive matches without a win.

Ngezi Platinum last week played a 0-0 draw against Dynamos and will be eager to return to winning ways at Rufaro.
