Chris Brown’s ex has posted a picture of her bloodied lip.

And the conclusion you just jumped to is what has the rapper’s fans up in arms.

On Tuesday Karrueche Tran uploaded a close-up picture of a nasty cut to her mouth.

The 27-year-old offered no explanation or context, besides the ambiguous caption ‘‘Rough day in Chicago’’.

It later emerged that the ‘‘injury’’ was merely make-up applied as part of a video shoot she was doing in Illinois, in which according to TMZ she was playing a ‘‘street fighter’’ type.

But Chris Brown’s fans reacted angrily online, accusing his ex of purposely being obscure in the knowledge that most would jump to the conclusion the convicted woman-beater had something to do with it.

Chris assaulted former girlfriend Rihanna before the Grammy Awards back in 2009.

Meanwhile, Karrueche split with Chris in March this year, after it was revealed he had fathered a child with another woman during their relationship.

During the weekend she found herself at the centre of more Chris Brown drama when he began threatening model Tyson Beckford after he posted a picture with her.

On Saturday, the 44-year-old shared a seemingly innocent selfie of himself and Tran, writing: ‘‘Saturday with @Karrueche #vegas #palms #blasian’’

That was the apparent catalyst for a weekend of thinly veiled threats, handbags, and posse corralling by Brown, who reportedly is keen to rekindle his relationship with her

The following day, Chris tweeted (it has since been deleted): ‘‘Be in Vegas soon. Keep playing ya baby momma and then whoop yo child like he mine.’’

The Fine China singer included another note on his Twitter feed (which has also been subsequently deleted): ‘‘U wanna keep walking them runways. I need ta legs for that.’’

Then a few hours later, in an apparent response, Tyson, 44, shared a video on his Instagram account of himself shooting an AR15 (a high powered assault rifle) with the caption, ‘‘Just in case you forgot!’’

Then, as if goading Chris, wrote on twitter: ‘‘@officialchrisbrown it’s all about fun in vegas. Come thru papa.’’

The threats continued across social media throughout the weekend, until in a rare move Brown backed down and admitted things had gotten out of hand.

‘‘No drama! People are really starting to make this an issue,’’ he wrote.

‘‘I can be a real one and say that I was wrong for even pressing an issue,’ he added. ‘I can be a man about it.’’ — dailymail.
