CHICKEN Inn striker Edmore Chirambadare has become the latest player to leave for South Africa for trials at Bidvest Wits.

Highlanders’ defender Teenage Hadebe has also been invited for a week’s trial with Ajax Cape Town.

Another Highlanders player Thomas Chideu is currently training with Ajax Cape Town and yesterday his manager, Gibson Mahachi, said they have extended his trial period.

“The club requested to extend the trial period to Tuesday as they want him to play in a friendly match and he can only return on Wednesday evening.

“He is still young and needs to get exposure at that level and if a deal comes through then that’s a bonus,” he said.

Chirambadare will be hoping to impress Gavin Hunt as he arrives at the Students having scored eight goals in his debut Premiership appearance.

Albun Sport Management, which is run by former CAPS United forward Alois Bunjira and George Deda, organized the trials.

“I do believe he can make it. He is technically gifted, can hold the ball up well and can score, all the qualities that I know Gavin looks for in a striker,” said Bunjira.

“I have watched Edmore play for Chicken Inn and I have no doubt that he will make it big in football.”

The management company has also organised trials for ZPC Kariba defender Dennis Dauda and Zambian international Aaron Katebe who are also in South Africa trying their luck with Division One side Polokwane City.

They left last week and are still training with the club.

Hwange striker Evans Rusike is still at Maritzburg where he is having a ten-day trial period.

His manager Edzai Kasinauyo said the player was doing well.

Away in Europe, Wisdom Mutasa and Walter Musona continue with their three-week trials at Slovakia side FK Senica.

On Sunday their team played against a Czech Republic side Banik Ostrava and won 5-0.

Mutasa yesterday told the Herald that they both played in the last 20 minutes and the coach said he was impressed by their performance.

“The game was okay. We were both introduced with about 20 minutes to go. The football here has pace, the players are fast and are good.

“But we are enjoying it and learning a lot as well.”
