KASIMERO CHIMBADZWA might be second in the race for the Golden Boot, but the Black Mambas forward believes that his team’s interests are bigger than individual accolades.
Chimbadzwa has scored 10 goals on his return to the World Navi Northern Region Division One league, after spending the previous season in the Premiership, and is second in the battle for the Golden Boot behind Gunners’ free-scoring forward Moses Demera.

The Gunners’ star has scored 11 goals.
Chimbadzwa said while winning the Golden Boot will be a big achievement, his team’s overall interests were more important. “It feels good to be scoring some crucial goals but individual accolades should come after the team’s goals,” said Chimbadzwa. “I am not looking much at the Golden Boot race as of now, but to see the team rise from where we are lying and move into a position where we can challenge for the championship.

“We have a good side, who work as a team so, without other players, I would not have scored the goals, so I think the team should be my first priority.”
Chimbadzwa has scored three braces so far this season and is hopeful that Black Mambas will bounce back after a poor start.

“We are not very far in the title race, it is still open and we still have a chance to return to the Premiership.
“All teams are eyeing the ticket (to the Premiership) but the second round will be a tough one although we have a good team which can produce results.”

Black Mambas have added defender Wilberforce Chirambwa and striker Ashton Mhlanga from Plumtree Chiefs to add depth to their team.
