AFTER experiencing a miserable run of five games without a win just before the mid-season break, Dynamos legend Sunday Chidzambwa wants his men to start firing starting with their match against the Glamour Boys at Nyamhunga this afternoon.

ZPC Kariba desperately need a tonic to revive their floundering campaign which has seen them losing ground in this year’s championship race.

“We had probably hit a bad patch,” said Chidzambwa.

“Any team can go through that phase. We are hoping that probably starting tomorrow (today) we will start scoring goals again and getting the positive results.

“So we are prepared well for this game. We always do that with each and every game that we play. But in football as much as you may prepare it can also happen that things may not go your way.

“We are playing against the giants of Zimbabwean football and if you trace the history of our game, for any team that plays Dynamos, the players don’t need any extra motivation. It’s a self-motivating game because many people including scouts will be watching.”

ZPC Kariba may still end on top of Dynamos if they win today.

Statistically, ZPC Kariba have a strong home record which stands at five wins and one loss at Nyamhunga in the league competition this season.

“Our home record is good and we are happy with that, but this is a new game altogether. Dynamos being Dynamos can always play well wherever they go in Zimbabwe because they have supporters everywhere. So the issue of home advantage doesn’t apply here,” said Chidzambwa.

The club yesterday was still keeping fingers crossed over the availability of pacey winger Talent Chawapihwa and defender Lincoln Zvasiya who missed the first leg because of injuries.

The duo was expected to take a late fitness test.

Both players were injured when they played their former paymasters Harare City at Nyamhunga, which was their only defeat at home in the league competition this year.

Chawapihwa has been struggling with a knee injury while Zvasiya had a groin problem.

Chidzambwa is still expecting most of his players to be available for selection with impressive goalkeeper Tendai Hove again tipped to lead from the back.

The other key players like Thomas Sweswe, Never Tigere, Timire Mamvura, Limited Chikafa, Tineyi Chitora and Godknows Mangani are also fit to play.

Dynamos on the other hand are looking to unleash their new striker Jacob Muzokomba to bolster their attack.

Muzokomba joined the Glamour Boys during the week together with Marshall Machazane and Takunda Sadiki.

The club’s spokesperson Webster Marechera confirmed their papers are now in place.

“We now have the clearances for Muzokomba and Machazane. They are now our players and it’s up to the coaches to play them if they see it fit. What is only left is the ITC for Sadiki who has been playing in Botswana,” said Marechera.

DeMbare were also still waiting for the clearance of Wisdom Mutasa.

Assistant coach Murape Murape said the Harare giants are targeting maximum points.

Ocean Mushure is expected to wear the captain’s armband in the absence of Stephen Alimenda who is suspended.

“We are going there with a positive mentality, we are not looking at the obstacles that are ahead of us. What we want as a team is to continue with our progress.

“If you look at where we are coming from, we started badly in the first half and we have been rising slowly, but surely on the log. So that’s what we want to continue doing when we face them on Saturday (today),” said Murape.
