TONGO Charamba set the pace midway through the Pre-Open Classic at Royal Harare yesterday. He carded an impressive five-under-par 67 to take control of the 51-member field going into this mornings’ second and final round. The Chapman golfer came into the Pre-Open Classic after losing in a play-off in last weekend’s Tour Players Open to Ignatius Mketekete. Amateur Stuart Krog, the 2014 Dugmore Trophy champion, lies in fourth place on two-under par after a solid 70. Krog is tied with Tich Musemburi and the consistent Dale Howie on two-under-par. Meanwhile, the 2014 edition of the Golden Pilsener Zimbabwe Open was launched at Royal Harare last night. The tourney will be held at Royal Harare from April 15 to 20.
