CHAPUNGU know the threat posed by their opponents in the final weeks of the campaign after they were left with a big say in the destiny of the league crown this season with a fixture schedule that pits them against all the contenders.

Recently, the airforce side restricted leaders Ngezi Platinum to a 1-1 draw and they now have to play the remaining trio in the race, starting with Dynamos tomorrow. Then they will take on Chicken Inn and FC Platinum on the last day of the campaign. They arrive in Harare after winning three games on the bounce.

“It is going to be a difficult game against a team like Dynamos in Harare,’’ said coach Tendai Chikuni. The situation is even worse considering that they are desperate for points to win the title. But we are also fighting against relegation and we are determined to collect points to be safe. The guys have been doing well of late and we hope to continue that form until the end.

“The fixture schedule is also very tough on our part as we are playing teams that are fighting for the title towards the end of the season. We played Ngezi Platinum, next is Dynamos and we will also play Chicken Inn and FC Platinum, which means we have tough games ahead of us. But I am happy the guys have managed to stand the heat and we hope to continue with that run. We are not worried about the aspirations of those in the title race and we only play for Chapungu and make sure we achieve our objectives at the end of the season.’’
