Black Rhinos . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0

AIRMEN Chapungu bounced back to winning ways after a two-match losing streak as they easily dispatched fellow military outfit Black Rhinos in a Castle Lager Premiership soccer encounter at Ascot yesterday.

Chapungu also came into this match at the back of loss by FC Platinum before the mid-season break.

But goals from Phillip Marufu (penalty) and Allen Tavarwisa in the first half put them in the driving seat before Patrick Khumbula put the match beyond the reach of Chipembere three minutes after the break.

Rhinos took the initiative earlier on in the match threatening to overrun their opponents but it was the home side who took the lead when former Dynamos defender Sydney Linyama handled inside in the box.

And up stepped Marufu who made no mistake from the penalty spot, torching wild celebrations among the Chapungu faithful at Ascot.

From there on the hosts gathered momentum and got their insurance goal from Tavarwisa when he headed in a Tineyi Chitora cross in the 43rd minute to take a healthy lead to the breather.

The airmen continued from where they left in the second half and Khumbula, who was registered during the current transfer window, made it 3–0 for “Waru Waru” through a cheeky back-heeler in a goalmouth melee inside the Rhinos box.
