tournament that tees off at Chapman tomorrow morning.
The tournament has attracted 160 players for the four-ball-better-ball format on Saturday and Sunday.
Chapman has hosted the past three editions of the competition and this year’s tournament will be hosted by RioZim, the parent company of Empress Nickel.
RioZim’s tournament organiser, Eddie Sithole, has challenged golfers to put on their best show.
“We are looking forward to an exciting game with a lot of competition,” said Sithole.
“There should be better competition this time with the entries increasing with each day.
“We would also want to express our acknowledgements to some of the sponsors like Chamerfly, Shemax, ZB Bank, ConPlant AEL and several others who helped us in organising the big event.”
He said his team was ready.
“We are not going to give our title away easily, the players are still the same and they are geared up for the challenge.
“The tournament is good as a social platform for both players and companies and we urge all the participants to come and enjoy two-days of golf.
“There are also good prizes for the winners,” said Sithole.
RioZim won the event in 2008 with Zimplats taking honours in 2009 before RioZim captured the crown again last year.
With the Chapman course now dry, the golfers will certainly play cautiously.
