LAST week Microsoft launched its new Windows 8 operating system, which I managed to get hold of and after some 24 minutes of a clean install, I will attempt to review it.
The first thing you will notice when you fire up Windows 8 is that your beloved, familiar Start button is gone and every third party application has come with its own new way to restore what Windows is trying to trash.
Arguably, it’s such a grand departure from Redmond’s legacy Windows software that most users won’t recognise it as Windows at all.
That is both good and bad. For those pundits who were crying out for something fresh, Windows has aptly responded to their calls. -
MICROSOFT will today unveil its new eagerly awaited operating system, Windows 8. The impending launch has already generated a lot of excitement and expectations across the globe. The latest offering is expected to underline Window’s status as the most popular desktop operating system.
Windows 8 is being touted as Microsoft’s best product ever in more than 30 years of making operating systems.
The Windows 8 launch will be in New York and will coincide with the launch of the highly anticipated tablet, the Surface RT, which is Microsoft’s first foray into personal computing. -

LAST week I highlighted that the number one requirement to have a successful ICT career is a burning passion for technology.
I wish to reiterate that even if you have very good qualifications but without this commitment to technology, your chances of making it into this profession are next to nothing.
The industry is well known for attracting school dropouts who thrive on their zeal to make a difference rather than educational qualifications. Some of the famous names that fall into this category include Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, and Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple. They dropped -

Students are currently on holiday and once again my mailbox is braving its busiest season of all times.
Which IT course do you best recommend? For years I have been asked this question and have rated it the top most frequently asked question! Most school- leavers awaiting their results for college or university are not acquainted with the right career guidance information.
I’m not so sure if we are still having those these days but to one day end up in a computing class -

THIS year has been one of the busiest for the technology industry in decades due to the number of events that have been lined up since January.
Most of the events have been marketing and exposing local talent with computer software developers benefiting the most from the recent events.
One of the most significant events to be hosted was the one put together by Forget Me Not Africa in conjunction with Econet Zimbabwe. -
