Carry the blessing of the Lord this Xmas

It is amazing how when God wanted to start a new thing, he called a man, and told him to leave his kindred and background of worshipping idols. The man’s name was called Abraham and today he is reckoned to be the father of faith. Because of his faith and obedience the man carried on his life a supernatural blessing. Friends, it wasn’t a one day blessing, it wasn’t just money, cattle, livestock, or children, No.

It was more than that. The blessing was generational; it outlived him, and went on to his son Isaac, and to Jacob, Isaac’s son. Do you know what? Here is the good news; the blessing did not end there – it stretched to you also as a child of God.

But how pastor? For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son (Jesus) that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life! You are connected to the blessing of Abraham through our Lord Jesus Christ who is the seed of Abraham.

I challenge you today, enjoy this day with a difference, aim to connect and carry the blessing of Christmas – the blessing of Abraham over your life through Jesus Christ.

“Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed” (Genesis 12:1-3). This was God’s promise to Abraham many years ago. Yet it’s still active and powerful right to this day.

Abraham carried the blessing of the Lord upon him after he left his kindred in obedience to God’s word.

All that is needed in a man’s life is this one thing – to carry the blessing of the Lord! Life revolves around two powers – blessing and curse. Blessing brings all the peace, health, wisdom, understanding, unity and every good thing.

On the contrary, curse entails fear, depression, worry, disease, lack, confusion and all manner of evil in life.

What you need to do is to carry the blessing of God during this Christmas day. You need to realise that the curse is not yours but the blessing!

Sickness is not yours but good health! Let those tears of pain, hurt, rejection and suffering be turned into tears of joy and laughter this Christmas day because of the blessing of the Lord that he gave us. Actually Jesus is the ultimate blessing! He is everything in life. He is the great I AM.

But you could be in the streets right now, homeless, in a hospital battling to survive another day, or in your room alone, crying feeling rejected, lonely and unloved – friend someone loves you.

For God so loved you that He gave you Jesus (John 3:16). Wipe your tears, shake yourself and say: “I am somebody; I possess the blessing of God upon my life!” Stop feeling sorry about yourself or getting depressed over the loved ones you lost and you are thinking if only they were here this day.

No, it’s not the time. Celebrate the good things God has done and is doing in your life. It’s a time of thanksgiving, a time to thank God for another year he gave you, another Christmas, another child he gave you, another job, another contract, another idea and every good thing he has added to your life!

It is not time to indulge in sin and destructive acts. It is time to rejoice and be glad in God. It is even time to commit and surrender one’s life to the Lord Jesus Christ making Him your Lord and Saviour.

By so doing you are disconnecting yourself from the power of the curse and connecting yourself to the power and fire of the Lord’s blessing.

That very blessing and promise of Abraham is accessed through Jesus Christ. He is the way, the only way. I challenge you today if you are not yet born again to invite Jesus into your heart and make him your Lord. Pray, “Lord Jesus come into my heart and be the Lord of my life.

“I confess with my mouth that you came into the world, died for me on the cross and rose on the third day. I receive you today, I am born again, I am saved. Amen!”

Christmas is meant to be time of celebrating God’s love over your life through Jesus Christ. He is the reason for this time and day. It is time to share with others, especially family. “But Bishop my family is falling apart and disintegrating, what do I do?”

The blessing of God is the answer. God told Abraham that “in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed” (Genesis 12:3). Your family is only blessed through the promise God made to Abraham for all nations were to be blessed through him who was blessed by God.

As you read this article today, carry the blessing of the Lord to your family, village, community, town and world. Give, show and demonstrate the love of God today. The blessing is powerful when you give it to others. You were blessed to bless.

It is not time to curse or bewitch each other. Neither is it time to condemn nor trouble others in your heart. Forgive, love and share in the blessing of God.

It’s not time to fix your spouse, brother, child, friend or workmate, No. Don’t do or speak evil over others or think too much on negative things, charms, curses, accidents or being bewitched or set up by the enemy. Think too much about the bless- ing!

Even your mouth is a different mouth, it’s a channel of peace, love, unity and the blessing of God. Like Abraham, make a difference in your generation. Carry the blessing of God during this Christmas Day. Receive this gift for Christmas – the blessing of Abraham.

God bless you and carry this blessing today and in all you do in Jesus name. Merry Christmas and a blessed 2015 – A YEAR OF THE LORD’s FAVOUR! For with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27).
