HARARE giants CAPS United are hoping to have their captain Tapiwa Khumbuyani and goalkeeper Tafadzwa Dube back in the fold for their next assignment against Chapungu at Ascot this Saturday.
The pair has been side-lined for almost a month with ankle injuries and coach Taurayi Mangwiro yesterday indicated that the players have made strides towards full recovery during the two weeks of international break.

Mangwiro said he wanted all his players available for selection as they seek a change of fortunes on the road.
The Green Machine have been struggling with their away form this season and have failed to win a single match outside Harare.

“Our captains are training with the team and we will see as the week progresses how far they have gone with the recovery,” said Mangwiro.
“I am happy with the international break because it gave our players time to recover from their knocks. We badly needed it since the intensity of the games that we had played was taxing.

“I’m glad we had all players in training today (yesterday) except for Ronald Pfumbidzai who still has to explain why he missed the session.
“We want to take the strongest team to Chapungu because we haven’t been doing well away from home.

“If you look at the three times that we have played outside Harare against FC Platinum, Highlanders and How Mine we came back home empty-handed.
“It’s worrisome but we are not panicking. We need to win consistently, whether we are at home or we are playing away, and hopefully things will change starting with this game against Chapungu.” Makepekepe are currently seventh in the log standings with 14 points, five behind leaders Highlanders.

They beat Bantu Rovers 1-0 in their last match to ease pressure on Mangwiro.
Defending champions Dynamos will be at home as they host Biggie Zuze’s Triangle at the National Sports Stadium.

The Harare giants have also been struggling for consistency but straight wins in their last two matches before the international break should give a fresh impetus to their campaign for a fourth successive title under Callisto Pasuwa.

DeMbare will welcome Partson Jaure, George Chigova and Stephen Alimenda from the national team.
With 16 points in the bag, a win will help keep the top teams in check.

Log leaders Highlanders will be out to keep their place at the top but they know they will need to be at their best when they face arch-rivals FC Platinum at Barbourfields on Sunday.

Bosso were at the receiving end when the teams clashed recently in the semi-finals of the Zimbabwe National Army Charities match at the same venue three weeks ago.

Another interesting match will see Harare City taking their restoration mission to How Mine.
