THE CAPS United technical department face a big headache ahead of the return leg of the Harare Derby against old rivals Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday as three key players, who make up the core of their defence, are set to miss the game. The Green Machine has been battling a curse of injuries of late and knocks to captain Tapiwa Kumbuyani and centre-back David Chipala in their last outing against Dynamos only made the situation worse.

The Makepekepe technical department will need to come up with a new pairing at the heart of defence on Sunday as the side was dealt another big blow this week with the suspension of regular starter Stephen Makatuka.

Makatuka will not be available for this weekend because he has amassed three yellow cards while Chipala will be out for at least three weeks.
Striker Dominic Chungwa resumed training this week but is not yet 100 percent fit.

CAPS United were eliminated from the NetOne One Wallet Cup by Dynamos after going down 1-0 courtesy of Rodreck Mutuma’s late strike last Sunday.

The Green Machine raised the tempo in preparations yesterday as they held two training sessions.
“I think we just have to forget about the past. What happened in the other games is now behind us, it’s in the past. We need to focus on the next assignment,” said Chungwa.

“Dynamos, obviously, will come back with a lot of confidence after the previous win but every game is different in its own right. You never know what will happen next.

“As a team we are just trying to get back our rhythm.
“I think we haven’t been doing well in the last two games, so we are trying to help each other to get back to our form and fight for a victory.
“Everybody wants to win but then it’s the best team on the day that triumphs. So we are promising to do our best to win this game. Our supporters should not lose hope, we know how they feel right now and we will try our best to make them happy and to put smiles on their faces.”

Chungwa, who has been linked with a move to FC Platinum, missed the last game with a groin injury.
