CAPS UNITED striker John Zhuwawu is convinced his team will bounce back to winning ways when they face basement side Bantu Rovers at Hartsfield in a Castle Lager Premiership tie tomorrow.

The reigning champions, who had a huge fixture backlog owing to their participation in the CAF Champions League, saw their six-match unbeaten run ended by bitter rivals Dynamos in the Harare Derby last Sunday. They then went to Bulawayo and picked a point in a 1-1 draw with Bulawayo City on Wednesday. Zhuwawu scored the equaliser.

The Green Machine are back in the City of Kings for the second time inside five days and fatigue could catch up with them, but Zhuwawu believes his team are only looking at getting maximum points.

“We definitely need to win the game against Bantu Rovers on Sunday (tomorrow). We have gone for two games without a victory in the league and it is too much in a league which is proving to be very competitive.

“We lost against Dynamos, which is unacceptable in our CAPS United culture, and when we had to make up in three days’ time, we also dropped points against Bulawayo City.

“So the match against Bantu Rovers provides us with an opportunity to redeem ourselves and reshape our campaign. “We have to finish the league in a decent position and we can only do that by winning matches like the one we are playing on Sunday.

“I am very impressed by the work ethic everyone was displaying at training during the week. If we can all put the same effort in the match against Bantu Rovers then I am sure our team will roar,” he said.

The Green Machine walloped the Bulawayo team 3-0 in the reverse fixture under floodlights at the National Sports Stadium. Resurgent Triangle host a confident Hwange, still celebrating a 3-0 win against Bantu in mid-week, at Gibbo.

But before all that, championship hopefuls Chicken Inn will be hoping to consolidate their lead at the top of the table when they face Yadah Stars at Hartsfield this afternoon. Yadar Stars striker Roderick Mutuma has since promised fireworks in this match.
