1421: The proceedings have ended at the National Heroes Acre.

1358: President Mugabe now hands over the National Flag to Mrs Evelyn Gwanzura.

1350: Cde Gwanzura is now being buried.

1328: The President has ended his speech.

1321: He urges the Gwanzura family not worry about inheriting the stadium as it is a national asset and not theirs. One of the Gwanzuras had asked whether they will be taking it as part of their inheritance.

1314: The President said the white men didn’t want to educate blacks because if you make them wise and clever you developing them into your critics and your fighters in the future.

1310: He says fighters don’t die, they fade away.

1303: The President describes how the Rhodesian government restricted the liberation war leaders to their homes instead of being imprisoned because it was cheaper than jailing them. He says he would plough the field while the police is in tour.

1252: He explains that Highfield was meant for Government workers that’s why no municipal authority could build stadium.

1246: He described Cde Gwanzura as humble man and never canvassed for positions.

1242: President Mugabe says the National Democratic Party was formed while he was in Ghana.

1234:  He says Cde Gwanzura was true to reality and lived with people.

1231: He explains that back in the days of colonialism education was restricted to certain fields. Others who managed to send children to South Africa meant that they could get a better education.

1224: He says the State and the church are partners. He narrates the early days of the Trade Unionist Gwanzura as they fought for better working conditions for blacks.

1217: The President is now describing how liberation heroes decided to seek self determination.

1214: The President says the country belongs to black people and the whites are visitors and they took the country by force.

1212: He says we may pray but the truth is our lives and each individual is in the hands of he, the creator not us. This is the knowledge we have always had.

1211: President Mugabe says Gwanzura died a day after the burial of Cde Tanyanyiwa, the nation and the party was still mourning naturally we couldn’t understand why death would strike so soon. We are just people and we don’t have the power to decide how many years we live.

1206: Minister of Home Affairs Cde Kembo Mohadi is now addressing the mourners. He goes on to invite President Mugabe to the podium.

1130: President Mugabe and First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe have arrived.

1105: The body of Cde Gwanzura has left Stodart Hall for burial at the National Heroes Acre.

1102: Vice President Joice Mujuru has arrived at the National Heroes Acre.

1055: Zanu-PF Chairperson and Senior Minister Simon Khaya Moyo, Speaker of the National Assembly Cde Jacob Mudenda are among other dignitaries who have arrived at the National Heroes Acre.

1052: Security Chiefs have arrived at the National Heroes Acre.

1023: President Mugabe has arrived at Stodart Hall.

1023: Meanwhile, some mourners are already gathered at the National Heroes Acre include Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda, Registrar General Mr Tobaiwa Mudede, Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi and Presidential Affairs Minister Didymus Mutasa.
