Merrymakers will be in for a treat this evening at City Sports Bar at Jam Session in an event themed ‘Bulawayo meets Harare’. The much hyped session is expected to start at 4.30 pm till late. City Sports Bar events manager Mathias Bangure said the Jam Session will be explosive, with lots of diverse entertainment from different musicians of the Sunshine City and the City of Kings.

“The Jam Session will be explosive on Monday (tonight). It is not something that fans should miss, with all these celebrities from diverse spheres of influence I am sure it will be a great event altogether”, Bangure said.

Musicians who are expected to perform include Jeys Marabini, Andy Muridzo, Kessia Magosha, Sandra Ndebele, Beverly Sibanda, Mzoe 7, Guluva 7, Mbeu, Dereck Majaivana and many more.

Andy Muridzo, through his manager Simbarashe Norman Nyaunga, said he believes it will be a great show. “I believe it will be a great show. We are looking forward to meeting artistes from Bulawayo and making our fans happy and satisfied. As you know, we treat City Sports bar as our home, so I am sure it will be amazing. We are appealing to fans to come in numbers and support the ‘Dherira’ hit-maker as he shines on stage,” Nyaunga said.

Marabini’s manager Kudzai Chikomo said they were excited with being provided the platform to perform in Harare. “We are excited for having such an opportunity to perform for our fans in Harare. We have prepared a grand performance featuring songs from the new album ‘Thula Sana’ and old favourites. We want to bridge the gap between Harare and Bulawayo so we are planning to do more shows in Harare.

“These collaborations allow us to put aside our differences and pursue common effort,” Chikomo said. On the other hand Dereck Majaivana promised fireworks. “All I can say is that fans should expect fireworks this evening. They should expect the best from a musician who is not really noticed by promoters out there,” said Majaivana.

Kessia, a musician and actress who features on the hilarious ZBC drama “Muchaneta” said fans should look out for her performance tonight. “I will be on fire and fans should expect a mixed bag of traditional reggae and rumba fushion, they should not miss this,” she said.

Jam Session has provided a platform for less popular and forgotten musicians to showcase their talent as they believe promoters are now shunning them for popular artists. It is also meant to provide a platform for all musicians to shine on the same level regardless of statue.
