Gospel musicians will tonight converge at Rainbow Elite 100 in Bulawayo for the Gospel Live Concert.

The gospel show will feature a number of gospel artistes and choirs from Bulawayo as they seek exposure and a live show platform for their acts.

The concert is the second joint show under the Gospel Live Concert banner which is a brain child of Clarence Garura of Kirah Music. The idea came to life on April 10 and is a joint venture between Kirah Music and Rainbow Cinemas.

Some of the sponsors include Live Sound and Media, Winya Sounds and Town View Productions.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, Garura said the concert runs every fortnight and the first concert was held on April 10 with groups that participated including Vocal Ex, Creme Voices, Conquerors Africa, Rudo Nyoni, One Way to Heaven and Eric Moyo amongst others.

Garura said the whole idea of the concert was to unite gospel artistes and afford a platform for them to learn from each.

“The idea is concentrating on the level of artistic approach of gospel musicians as God Himself is an artist.

“From creation to everything God does, one sees the high level of artistic approach.

“This is an endeavour to unite gospel musicians in Bulawayo and cultivate the spirit of unity among musicians.

“We need to professionalise even praise and worship teams in churches by, not necessarily having to pay them, but investing in state of the art sound systems and instruments and developing them in various artistic fields,” he said.

This week’s edition of the Gospel Live will feature the likes of Shalom Adonai, AURA,(acapella groups), Highway to Heaven (an all female seven-member group), Creme Voices, Tsitsi Shumba, Afrofresh, Bongy and United Voices of Praise.

Garura added that he hoped the event will be beamed live on ZTV in the near future and participating groups are changed whilst maintaining only two groups from the previous concert so as to maintain the standard.
